Continental Grain Company Corp.
Continental Grain Company (CGC) is all over the food chain. The agribusiness company trades grain worldwide through subsidiaries including ContiAsia and ContiLatin. That grain is fed to chickens at subsidiary Wayne Farms, a major US poultry processor with 11 facilities and a capacity to process almost 2 billion pounds of poultry a year. CGC also has partnerships with Seaboard Corporation (called ContiSea), Charoen Pokphand, and Overseas Shipholding Group. In 2008 CGC formed Arlon, a private investment firm that manages three separate portfolios made up of diverse holdings. Chairman and CEO Paul Fribourg (a descendant of company founder Simon Fribourg) and his family own CGC.
