National Eating Disorders Association
The National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) works to prevent eating disorders and provide treatment referrals to those suffering from anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorders as well as those with body image or weight concerns. National Eating Disorders Association distributes educational programs to help combat negative body image which it believes leads to eating disorders. National Eating Disorders Association also funds research, conducts conferences, lobbies companies to stop using what it considers negative advertising, and provides information and treatment referrals through its hotline. NEDA's was formed in 2001 after the mergers of several related organizations.
