American Lung Association dedicated to the prevention and cure of lung disease. American Lung Association focuses on asthma management, air quality, and tobacco control. American Lung Association funds research, develops public education materials, sponsors conferences, and lobbies for legislation. American Lung Association operates through a network of about 200 local offices across the US as well as in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. About half of the American Lung Association's support comes in response to direct-mail solicitations, including the annual Christmas Seals drive. American Lung Association also receives grants from companies, foundations, and government agencies. American Lung Association was founded in 1904 to fight tuberculosis.
