American Refugee Committee
ARC has an overreaching mission to help people. The American Refugee Committee provides humanitarian aid for about two million refugees and displaced persons in the areas of health care and training, shelter repair and construction, water and sanitation, and psychosocial services and environmental rehabilitation. ARC works with people caught in the middle of war or civil conflicts in Africa, Asia, and Europe. American Refugee Committee also worked to help Americans forced to flee the US Gulf Coast by hurricanes Katrina and Rita, by bringing a group of Minnesota medical personnel from Mayo Clinic, the University of Minnesota, the College of St. Catherine, and Nechama to Louisiana.
