Barnardo's
Barnardo’s believes in children, no matter who they are. Barnardo’s vision today is that the lives of all children and young people should be free from poverty, abuse and discrimination. Barnardo’s believe in the abused, the vulnerable, the forgotten and the neglected. Barnardo's pledge to support them, stand up for them and bring out the best in each and every child. With a long history in the UK, Barnardo's is dedicated to supporting children and young people in need throughout England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. The not-for-profit organization helps some 110,000 children and their families suffering from problems such as abuse, poverty, homelessness, and discrimination; another major focus is helping children who are the major caregivers in their families. Barnardo's also runs about 330 shops across the UK, as well as an online store in order to raise funds for its projects. Barnardo's was formed in 1867 to provide for orphans and other destitute children.
