Its water treatment facilities are on the River Severn at Hampton Loade and at a treatment works near Lichfield. The company is the main subsidiary of South Staffordshire Plc. South Staffordshire Water was founded in 1853 by the Earl of Dudley to supply water to residents of Black County.
