U.S. Shipping Corp is a leading provider of long-haul marine transportation services, principally for refined petroleum products in the U.S. Jones Act trade. United Maritime's ocean-going fleet, made up of US-flag vessels, has an overall capacity of some 400,000 deadweight tons (DWT). Handled commodities include coal, grain, petroleum coke, and phosphate. United Maritime, known as TECO Transport prior to December 2007, was sold by its former parent TECO Energy to an investment group led by an affiliate of Miami-based Greenstreet Equity Partners.
