The National Alliance to End Homelessness
The National Alliance to End Homelessness wants to put roofs over the heads of the estimated 675,000 people who are homeless in America each night. The National Alliance to End Homelessness is dedicated to solving the problem of homelessness in every community. The National Alliance to End Homelessness works with around 5,000 public, private, and not-for-profit sectors in its plan to end homelessness in 10 years (or by 2010). The Alliance lobbies government, supports local assistance groups, and educates the public about the causes, effects, and solutions to homelessness. The National Alliance to End Homelessness also promotes best practices by sharing the programs that are working in communities. The Alliance was founded in 1983 as homelessness began to be a problem in the US.
