Surfrider Foundation
The Surfrider Foundation wants to keep the waves clean and the beaches pristine. Surfrider Foundation is dedicated to protecting oceans and beaches in the US and abroad. Surfrider Foundation has more than 40,000 members in the US (many of whom are surfers, swimmers, and other beach enthusiasts) and 60 local chapters located along the East, West, Gulf, Puerto Rican, and Hawaiian coasts. It also has branches in Australia, Brazil, France, Japan, and Spain. The Surfrider Foundation works through educational programs such as "Respect the Beach" to reduce pollution, improve water quality, conserve wetlands, and improve surfing access. Surfrider Foundation was founded in 1984 in Malibu, California.
