Girls Incorporated
Girls Incorporated's going concern is giving girls a chance. Begun in 1864 during the Industrial Revolution, it's a national organization that supports the lives of girls and young women age 6 to 18 living in high-risk or underserved areas. Girls Incorporated is a not-for-profit group that provides educational programs for girls in areas such as math and science, sports, money management, and leadership. Girls Incorporated programs are implemented through partner entities, including schools and youth-service organizations nationwide. Programs encourage girls to master challenges while the group lobbies lawmakers to promote girls' needs. Girls Incorporated was formally founded in 1945 as Girls Clubs of America.
