Shell is a key provider of the energy that millions of people use for heating and powering the UK. We produce around one tenth of the UK's oil and gas and operate almost a fifth. We are probably best known to the public for our service stations and we have around 900 retail sites in the UK. Our Stanlow refinery near Ellesmere Port in Cheshire is at the heart of Britain’s oil and chemical industry, producing a range of transport fuels, including Shell V-Power, and chemicals for industry.Our two main businesses are Shell U.K. Exploration and Production, an operating division of Shell U.K. Limited, and Shell U.K. Oil Products Limited. Each has its own board of directors and is a subsidiary of Shell Holdings (U.K.) Limited.
