Assocham business delegation to visit Russia to boost trade and technology tie-ups

Leading industry body Assocham would take a 17-member delegation to St Petersburg in Russia to boost trade and technology tie-ups between the two countries. The visit, supported by the MSME ministry, would take place between November 13 and 19 and is an initiative to support Indian business connect with global companies for technology, trade and partnership, director (east) of Assocham Perminder Jeet Kaur said in a statement. The event would include an exhibition, B2B & B2G meetings and panel discussions.
Two countries are committed to take India, Russia trade ties to reach US $30 billion by 2025. Display of Indian products at the exhibition is planned to show case our strength in herbal, ayurveda, textile, leather, jewellery and education. Assocham has seven MoUs with various chambers and export agencies in Russia. Delegation members are from Kolkata, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Ahmedabad, the statement added.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha said on Friday that the state government has undertaken a multi-pronged plan for the development of tourism in Tripura. He said a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth Rs 692 crore has been signed by the Tripura Tourism Department for the construction of ropeways.
Dr Saha made this announcement while addressing the World Tourism Day 2024 programme and felicitation of the unsung heroes of the recent floods in Tripura at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan.

A petition has been filed in the High Court of Karnataka, seeking a CBI probe against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in connection with the alleged MUDA scam.
Advocate Vasant Kumar, representing petitioner activist Snehamayi Krishna on Friday said that they have filed a writ petition and are seeking High Court directions to handover the case to the CBI to carry out a fair investigation in the writ petition.

About 12 textile companies are set to receive the first set of incentive payment under the production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme.
“Around 40 companies have grounded investment. We had a gestation period till March 2024.We hopethis financial year 10-12 companies will be getting incentive payout (under PLI),” a senior government official said on Friday.

The Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday confirmed that Sunil Jakhar continues to lead the party in the state, calling rumours of his resignation "totally baseless". Punjab BJP general secretary Anil Sarin confirmed that Jakhar, 70, was leading the party.
The BJP’s reaction followed hours after media reports claimed that Jakhar had reportedly resigned. The news had particularly raised eyebrows in view of the upcoming panchayat elections in the state scheduled for October 15.
