University Hospitals Health System (UHHS) is on a mission to teach, research, and administer good health throughout Northeast Ohio. Its flagship facility University Hospitals of Cleveland (UHC), which operates as University Hospitals Case Medical Center (UHCMC), is a 1,000-bed tertiary care center serving Cleveland and other parts of northeastern Ohio. The teaching hospital, which is affiliated with Case Western Reserve University, is also home to Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital, Ireland Cancer Center, and MacDonald Women's Hospital. Founded in 1866, the not-for-profit UHHS is also home to community hospitals, outpatient health and surgery centers, mental health facilities, and pediatric specialty centers.
