Mercy Health Network tends to the hearts (and other body parts) of the Heartland through its collection of hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and other health care operations. The integrated health network, formed through a joint operating agreement between Catholic Health Initiatives and Trinity Health, manages hospital systems in five Iowa cities: Clinton, Des Moines, Dubuque, Mason City, and Sioux City. The network also includes several rural hospitals and affiliated facilities. The largest hospital group is Mercy Medical Center-Des Moines, which consists of three campuses (including a mental health facility) with more than 900 inpatient beds. All together, Mercy Health Network boasts more than 2,000 beds.

Mercy Health Partners offers medical care to residents of northeastern Pennsylvania. The health network (operating as Mercy Health Partners Northeast Region) runs the 270-bed Mercy Hospital in Scranton, an acute-care medical center specializing in cardiology, oncology, and orthopedics. It also includes the Mercy Special Care Hospital, a long-term acute-care facility in Nanticoke. A third hospital, the Mercy Tyler Hospital (formerly Tyler Memorial Hospital) in Tunkhannock, joined the network at the start of 2010. Methodist Hospital of Southern California opened its doors in 1903 with five beds. Methodist Hospital of Southern California provides medical care to the residents of California's central San Gabriel Valley. The health care facility boasts some 460 beds and is part of Southern California Healthcare Systems. The non-profit hospital provides comprehensive acute care including surgical, pediatric, and intensive care units as well as a wide range of specialty services include cardiology, oncology, neurology, and orthopedics. Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare is happy to take care of sick people. Founded in 1918 by John Sherard, the not-for-profit health care system serves the Memphis area with seven hospitals; multiple minor medical, surgical, diagnostic health centers, and home health agencies. Miami Children's Hospital not-for-profit medical center has nearly 300 beds and offers more than 40 different health care specialties, including pediatric emergency care, cancer treatment, orthopedics, and rehabilitation services. The hospital's neonatal unit treats newborns referred from other hospitals. Miami Children's Hospital has a staff of some 650 physicians and operates the region's only free-standing pediatric trauma center. The hospital first opened its doors in the 1940s as Miami Tent #33 of Variety Clubs International. Variety Children's Hospital opened in 1950 and became Miami Children's Hospital in 1986.

Miami Valley Hospital formed in 1890, is part of the Premier Health Partners network. Miami Valley Hospital (MVH) is an acute care facility serving the residents of Dayton, Ohio, and surrounding areas through two campuses. MVH and MVH South have more than 800 beds and offer specialty care services through its Regional Adult Burn Center, the MVH Cancer Center, MVH Sports Medicine Center, and behavioral health units for outpatient and inpatient chemical dependency therapy and other psychiatric services.
