Intermountain Health Care, Inc. (IHC) was formed in 1975 when the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints donated 15 hospitals to local communities. IHC's hospitals have a combined total of about 2,700 licensed beds. From air ambulance services to urgent care clinics and general hospitals, IHC has all the tools to mend skiers (and non-skiers alike) in Utah and southern Idaho. Jackson Hospital & Clinic traces its roots back to 1894. Jackson Hospital & Clinic looks after the health of the residents of Montgomery and central Alabama. The not-for-profit hospital has some 340 acute care beds. Specialized services include cardiac care, emergency medicine, neurology, orthopedics, oncology, and women's and infant's health care. The medical center also provides family medicine, primary care, and diagnostic services through its outpatient clinic facilities, and it offers medical laboratory services for other regional health care providers.

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center has been operating (so to speak) in the Queens Borough of New York since before the nation of Jamaica even was born. Originally founded in 1892, the hospital serves Queens and eastern Brooklyn with general medical, pediatric, psychiatric, and ambulatory services. The facility has about 430 beds. The hospital's specialty services include a coma recovery unit, a dialysis center, a psychiatric emergency department, a rehabilitation center, as well as a traumatic brain injury recovery unit. Its Jamaica Hospital Nursing Home has more than 200 beds; it also operates a network of family health clinics. Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is a subsidiary of MediSys Health Network.

Jefferson Health System is a not-for-profit network that includes three health systems with hospitals, specialty clinics, and other medical facilities serving communities in the greater Philadelphia area. Members include the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital family (one of the system's founders), Main Line Health (the other founding organization), and Magee Rehabilitation. The Jefferson network has some 2,400 beds and is affiliated with Thomas Jefferson University.

Jefferson Regional Medical Center serves the South Hills area of Pittsburgh. The hospital has about 370 beds. In addition to primary care, Jefferson Regional Medical Center offers such specialized services as a heart institute for treating cardiovascular conditions and a physical rehabilitation and sports medicine center. Its emergency department treats more than 50,000 patients each year. Jefferson Regional Medical Center also provides home health care and emergency helicopter transportation services, and it operates nearby outpatient clinics and physician offices.

Jefferson Regional Medical Center (JRMC) provides acute care and other health services to residents of Pine Bluff and an 11-county area of southern Arkansas. The private, not-for-profit hospital has about 450 acute care beds and offers general medical and surgical care, as well as services in a range of specialties, including geriatrics, cardiology, and oncology. It also has a 25-bed skilled nursing unit that cares for patients transitioning to long-term care or home care. A network of hospital-owned and affiliated clinics offers outpatient surgery, diagnostic imaging, wound care, and other ambulatory health services. Additionally, the health system operates a nursing school and home health and hospice agencies.

Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's HealthCare (JHSMH) operates a regional network of more than 70 health care facilities with some 1,900 beds in Kentucky and southern Indiana. Its network includes hospitals, assisted living and nursing home services, and home health care, as well as rehabilitation, primary care, occupational health, and emergency services facilities. The network's primary facilities are the Jewish Hospital in Louisville with more than 440 beds, the Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital with 330 beds, and Our Lady of Peace, a 415-bed psychiatric hospital. Jewish Hospital HealthCare Services (JHHS) and CARITAS Health Services merged to form JHSMH in 2005.
