VocalTec Communications bridges the network generation gap.
The company's equipment and network management software
enable the transmission of voice signals over computer and
telephone networks. VocalTec's Essentra-branded computer
telephony systems allow telecommunications carriers to
manage centralized call control, call routing, calling card,
conferencing, voice VPN, and other functions. It has offices
in Israel, Germany, the US, Singapore, Hong Kong, and the
Netherlands. VocalTec was formed in 1989. In July 2010 the
company acquired YMax, maker of the popular magicJack phone
product and service.
