The company disposed of several assets, including land, homes, manufacturing plants, and gravel pit leases, in order to reduce its $46 million debt. Some of that debt likely came from the 2009 acquisiton of Winalta Envirocore, a road builder for the oil and gas industry. The recession drove down demand and Winalta's revenues and stock prices plunged that same year.
