Coventry Building Society was set up to construct houses in the 1800s. Deerfield Capital Corp acquired Charlotte-based Nova Credit Investment Management in 2010; it now plans to merge with Commercial Industrial Finance Corp (CIFC), which has some $6 billion under management.Specialty finance company Deerfield Capital grazes on a green pasture of investments. Through its subsidiaries, Deerfield Capital Management (DCM) and Columbus Nova Credit Investments, the company invests in and manages client assets such as residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS), bank loans, government securities, and asset-backed securities. They offer some 30 investment products, including separately managed accounts and a private investment fund. Deerfield has some $9.4 billion of assets under management.
