Kips Bay Medical, Inc.
Kips Bay Medical makes medical devices that help veins do their jobs in patients with coronary artery disease. The development-stage company is focused on developing and commercializing a vein support device called eSVS MESH, a mesh sleeve implanted by surgeons in coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) that, when placed over a patient's vein graft, improves the graft's structure and long-term performance. It is designed to mimic the artery's job of constricting the vein and preventing harmful vessel expansion. The company is conducting clinical trials of its eSVS MESH in Europe and is awaiting approval to begin clinical trials in the US. Kips Bay Medical filed a $57.5 million IPO in April 2010.
