LecTec Corporation licenses topical patches that deliver over-the-counter drugs through the skin. LecTec formerly made its products, but ceased manufacturing a few years ago and is now an intellectual property licensing and holding company. LecTec licenses its technology to Novartis for that company's Triaminic Vapor Patch, a cough suppressant for adults and children. LecTec is pursuing additional licensing agreements with Novartis, as well as seeking other licensing partners. It's also looking to expand its product portfolio through research and development opportunities.

LiDCO Group cares about the status of your heart. The company develops and manufactures minimally-invasive medical devices primarily for use in the field of cardiovascular monitoring. Its products include the LiDCO System (a sensoring product) and the LiDCOplus and PulseCO System (monitoring products), which can be used together to collect data electronically and monitor how well high-risk cardiovascular patients' hearts are performing. The company was established in 1991, and it bases its products on research that comes out of the Applied Physiology Laboratory at St. Thomas' Hospital. LiDCO sells its products worldwide.

LifeCell puts new life into the tissue graft market. The firm makes skin graft materials processed from cadaver skin, a category of products known as allografts. Its products include AlloDerm, used in reconstructive plastic, dental, and burn surgeries and Strattice Reconstructive Tissue Matrix, for plastic and reconstructive surgery and wound healing. LifeCell markets a series of other products for additional applications, including one called Cymetra for grafting and head and neck plastic reconstruction. The company markets its products in the US and abroad through a direct sales force and distributors. LifeCell is owned by wound care company Kinetic Concepts.
