ContentGuard, Inc.
ContentGuard plays watch dog to digital content rights. Spun off of Xerox in 2000, the company licenses digital rights management (DRM) technologies originally developed at Xerox's Palo Alto Research Center. ContentGuard's technology is designed to protect various types of digital content, including audio, video, text, games, software, electronics technology, personal financial data, and business information. Its DRM technology is especially attractive to media, entertainment, and publishing companies that attempt to prevent copyrighted material from being copied and distributed on the Internet without legal permission.
