Black Star Farms, LLC
Black Star Farms, which calls itself "An Agricultural Destination," operates a winery and distillery, a fresh produce farm, horse stables (which can accommodate up to 13 horses), and an eight-room bed-and-breakfast inn. It also offers event planning at its facilities. Black Star's winery produces Arcturos brand white wines (pinot blanc, pinot gris, chardonnay, and reisling); red wines under the Leorie and Red House labels (merlot, pinot noir, and cabernat franc); as well as fruit wines and fruit brandies (apricot, apple, pear, and cherry). Also operating onsite is the Leelanau Cheese Company, an creamery that makes European-style cheeses made from cow's milk. The northern Michigan company was founded in 1998.
