Auburn University
Auburn University is the largest schools in the South, Auburn University has an enrollment of more than 24,000 students and offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in more than 125 different fields of study through about a dozen colleges and schools. It also has a branch campus in Montgomery, Alabama. Auburn was founded by the Alabama Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1856 as the East Alabama Male College. It became a state institution in 1872 and adopted its current name in 1960.
