Rajiv Gandhi University (formerly Arunachal University) is the premier institution for higher education in the state of Arunachal Pradesh and has completed twenty five years of its existance. CIEFL is an autonomous Institution, registered as a society. CIEFL provides for the study of English and Foreign Languages and their literatures, organisation of research, training of teachers, production of teaching materials, and extension services, to help improve the standards of the teaching of English and Foreign Languages in India. Over the years, CIEFL has been introducing various Foreign Languages that are in demand. It is the only University in India catering exclusively to the teaching/learning Foreign Languages. The UGC, however, was established in November 1956 as a statutory body of the Government of India through an Act of Parliament for the coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of university education in India.
