The Ghazi Attack: India's first underwater, war-at-sea film.
The Ghazi Attack is inspired by true events from the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war. The story is about an executive naval officer of the Indian Submarine S21 and his team, who remain underwater for 18 days.
Rana Daggubati plays a naval officer in the film and looks dashing in a rugged yet confident avatar in the navy uniform.
There was one snag in this plot and that came in the form of Taapsee Pannu’s Bangladeshi immigrant Ananya.
India’s first war-at-sea film, The Ghazi Attack has major parts of the film shot indoors or under water.
The adventure film is directed by debutante dirctor Sankalp Reddy and is based on his book Blue Fish.
The film revolves around the mysterious sinking of PNS Ghazi, a Pakistan submarine during the Indo-Pak War 1971.
The film also stars Kay Kay Menon, Atul Kulkarni, Nasser and late Om Puri in pivotal roles.
It is jointly produced by AA Films and Dharma Productions and will be made in both Hindi and Telugu.
Megastar Chiranjeevi and Suriya will be lending their voices for the Telugu and Tamil versions of The Ghazi Attack. It must be noted that Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan has already lent his voice for the film.
The Ghazi Attack about the mysterious sinking of an Indian submarine during the 1971 Indo-Pak war has been ordered by the Censor Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) to add a disclaimer relinquishing any claims to historical accuracy.
The Ghazi Attack is slated to release on 24 February, 2017.
