Frog's Leap was founded in 1981 by John Williams, who is credited as an early pioneer of organic grape-growing in Napa Valley. Frog's Leap was founded on land that was a commercial frog farm in the late 1800s -- thus, its name.

Germain-Robin Alambic produces hand-distilled brandies and bourbons under the Anno Domini, Select Barrel XO, Shareholders Reserve, and Grappa labels. Germain-Robin products, said to rival the great French brandies (called cognac), are distilled from premium wine grapes such as Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Viognier (grappa is made from apples). Germain-Robin was founded by Ansley Coale and Hubert Germain-Robin who, according to company legend, set out to make brandy using an antique still found in an abandoned cognac distillery.

One of Kentucky's oldest and largest distilling operations, Heaven Hill Distilleries makes Evan Williams Bourbon as well as super-premium bourbons under the brand names Elijah Craig and Henry McKenna. The company bought the Christian Brothers brandy and Old Fitzgerald bourbon brands in 1999. The company also distributes a variety of other spirits, including the aperitif Dubonnet. Founded in 1934 by five brothers from the Shapira family, Heaven Hill is still family owned.

Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard makes red and white wine, such as Chardonnay, Riesling, and Pinot Noir. The company also operates a vine nursery that serves the wine production industry. Among the varieties offered include Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Riesling. The Wiemer vineyards, located in the Finger Lakes region of New York, were established by founder Hermann Wiemer in 1973 on an abandoned soybean farm, and the winery was added to the property in 1982. Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard produces approximately 12,000 cases of wine annually. In 2007 Wiemer sold his winery of nearly three decades to his assistant, winemaker Fred Merwarth.
