Tinopolis is a large city of independent media companies. The company produces about 2,500 hour of programming each year for more than 200 broadcasters, including the Welsh station S4C, BBC, ITV, Channel 4 , Five, and France 5. Its brands include APP Broadcast (sports), Tinopolis Interactive (interactive educational materials), Folio (documentary), DEEM (animation), Daybreak Pictures (drama), and POP 1 (documentary, sports, and children's programming). From offices in London, Leeds, Oxford, Glasgow, and Cardiff, Tinopolis also produces educational and training materials for the BBC and Britain's Ministry of Defence. The company was taken private in 2008 by investment firm Vitruvian Partners.
