Hirschfeld Industries is into heavy metal. The company, operating through subsidiaries (Carolina Steel Group, Consteel Technical Services, and Hirschfeld Steel), fabricates and provides structural steel for transportation, infrastructure, industrial, commercial construction, and power projects. The group produces more than 10,000 tons of the alloy each year and its products include girders, trusses, beams, mill-rolled shapes, and other structural steel. Hirschfeld has provided steel for projects such as Reliant Stadium in Houston, the Anaheim Convention Center in California, McCarran Airport in Las Vegas, and the J. C. Penney corporate headquarters in Plano, Texas. Hirschfeld filed an IPO in 2009.
