American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) represents more than 147,000 members of the civil engineering profession worldwide. The organization operates under the mission of developing leadership, advancing technology, advocating lifelong learning, and promoting the profession. ASCE publications include books, manuals, journals, and magazines, as well as online research databases. It also provides its members with continuing education opportunities. Other ASCE activities include issuing annual report cards on the state of our nation's infrastructure. ASCE was founded in 1852 and is America's oldest national engineering society.
