Founded in 1906 in Fort Worth, Texas, flagship facility John Peter Smith Hospital has approximately 460 beds and provides specialty services including orthopedics, cardiology, and women's health. Kadlec Regional Medical Center is an acute care hospital facility serving southeastern Washington and northeastern Oregon. In addition to providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and emergency services, the hospital operates a freestanding diagnostic center that features state-of-the-art imaging equipment. Other programs include neonatal intensive care, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, interventional cardiology, neurology, and cancer care.

Kaleida Health provides a kaleidoscope of services to residents of western New York. The health system operates five acute care hospitals including Buffalo General Hospital (its largest facility with about 510 beds), The Women & Children's Hospital of Buffalo, DeGraff Memorial Hospital, Millard Fillmore Gates Circle Hospital, and Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. Community health care needs are met through a network of about 100 medical clinics. Kaleida Health also operates skilled nursing care facilities and provides home health care through its Visiting Nursing Association. To help train future medical professionals, Buffalo General Hospital is a teaching affiliate of the State University of New York.

Kane Community Hospital, founded in 1929, also provides primary care to residents of northwestern Pennsylvania through its hospital-based clinics. The 40-bed acute care hospital provides services that include cardiology, emergency care, general surgery, oncology, and women's care. Kane Community Hospital has an affiliation with the larger Hamot Medical Center (which has about 350 beds) through which the two organizations share resources and training, as well as physician recruitment opportunities. Additionally, their combined size allows them cut back on operating costs by purchasing supplies in volume.
