Ingalls Memorial Hospital
Fredrick Engels helped pen a manifesto in 1848, but Chicago-area industrialist Frederick Ingalls helped found a hospital in 1923. Ingalls Memorial Hospital still serves Chicago's south suburbs. With more than 560 beds, the hospital offers a variety of acute and tertiary health care services, including cancer treatment, cardiovascular care, orthopedic surgery, rehabilitation services, neurosurgery, and other clinical services. In partnership with nearby Proctor Hospital, Ingalls operates an inpatient addiction treatment facility. Ingalls Memorial Hospital is part of Ingalls Health System which operates a handful of family care centers, a wellness center, a cancer support center, and Ingalls Home Care.
