The process requires less than 20 minutes, and has possible applications to cancers of the ovaries, skin, prostate, and colon. Director James MacKay, through the MacKay Group, owns a majority interest in MacKay Life Sciences.

MAKO Surgical Corp. developed and markets the MAKOplasty partial knee resurfacing system, a minimally invasive alternative to traditional knee replacement surgery for patients with early- to mid-stage osteoarthritis.
