Barnes-Jewish Hospital
Barnes-Jewish Hospital has a lot to show residents of the Show-Me State. As the largest hospital in Missouri, it serves the residents of St. Louis and surrounding communities with some 1,200 inpatient beds and a medical staff of 1,800. The flagship facility of BJC HealthCare, the facility is the primary teaching hospital of Washington University School of Medicine, and it offers care in a number of medical specialties, including organ transplantation, pulmonary disease, oncology, cardiovascular disease, and orthopedics. The health center was created in 1996 through the merger of two St. Louis hospitals with roots reaching back to the early 1900s.
