Theodore Presser Company
Theodore Presser Company was founded in 1883 as a magazine for music teachers called The Etude. Through its 1931 acquisition of the Oliver Ditson Company, Theodore Presser can lay claim as the oldest music publisher in the US (Ditson traces its roots to 1783). Theodore Presser publishes and distributes print music through catalogs and retail locations. It also provides an online rental library. In addition to its own catalogs, Presser offers music from more than 70 American and foreign publishers.
