This company helped start America's love affair with records and it is still churning out the hits. Tracing its roots back to the 1880s, Columbia Records Group is one of the leading recording labels in the US. It boasts a roster of popular artists such as Aerosmith, Dixie Chicks, Beyonca, and Bruce Springsteen. It has also produced soundtrack albums for films and TV, including Glee: The Music, Volumes 1 and 2, as well as compilation albums such as We're a Happy Family - A Tribute to The Ramones. In addition to recorded CDs, the label markets DVDs and distributes digital music and videos. Columbia, the oldest surviving brand name in pre-recorded sound, is a division of music giant Sony Music Entertainment.
