Visicu, Inc.
Visicu helps keep an eye on patients in the ICU. The company offers a remote monitoring system and support services for intensive care units in hospitals across the US. Its eICU Critical Care Program consists of a center with video and audio links to patients' rooms, as well as a suite of software products. The system enables health care providers to monitor ICU patients more frequently and intervene earlier in crisis situations. Critical care staff can use multiple screens to monitor real-time data, care plans, diagnostic results, and treatment history for patients. The company was acquired by Royal Philips Electronics for about $430 million in 2008.
