Fédération Internationale de Football Association
The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) is the world's governing body for football (otherwise known as soccer in the US), the world's most popular sport. Overseeing more than 200 member associations, FIFA regulates the rules of play, sets standards for refereeing, and administers international transfers of players. It also organizes international competitions, including one of the world's largest sporting events, the World Cup, held every four years to determine the world's best soccer team. FIFA generates revenue primarily through broadcasting rights and sponsorships.
