Fitness First Plc is one of the world's leading fitness club operators with some 550 locations and more than 1.5 million members in more than 20 countries. About 170 clubs are located in the UK. The company has launched a franchise business to open Fitness First clubs in the Middle East and North Africa. Football Northwest owns and operates the Seattle Seahawks professional football franchise. The team joined the National Football League during the league expansion of 1976 (the same year as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers) but suffered through mostly disappointing seasons until a resurgence beginning in the late 1990s. Fans were finally treated to a Super Bowl appearance following the 2005 season; however, Seattle fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers in that game. Founded by department store magnate Lloyd Nordstrom, the Seahawks franchise has been owned by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen since 1997.

Gillingham Football Club plays its football (soccer) in the English Football League One. The team, nicknamed the Gills, holds its home games at the 11,000 capacity Priestfield Stadium. The club was founded in 1893 but in their long history have only received promotion to the second tier English league once; from 2000 to 2005. The club has wrangled with problems on and off the pitch and narrowly avoided complete dissolution in the mid 90's. Gillingham FC wears shirts that are sponsored by MHS Homes Group.
