Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile
Fédération Internationale de L'Automobile (FIA) is the governing body for Formula One (F1) grand prix auto racing, an international open-wheeled racing circuit with more than 15 events around the world. The organization also governs a world rally race, touring car competition, and other racing events. In addition to promoting auto racing, FIA represents about 220 motoring organizations in 130 countries and promotes the interests of motorists in international policy bodies such as the EU and UN. The not-for-profit association was founded in 1904.
