United States Fund for UNICEF
The US Fund for UNICEF is one of 37 committees in the nation that raises money for UNICEF -- a not-for-profit organization that works for the human rights, protection, and development of children worldwide through education, advocacy, and fundraising. Among its dedicated programs are the five-year, $100 million fundraising campaign for HIV/AIDS prevention and a campaign to protect mothers and newborns from tetanus. The US Fund for UNICEF derives revenue from public support -- through its signature Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF program, gifts, corporate grants, and the sale of greeting cards and educational materials. The organization was founded in 1947.
