Freedom from Hunger
Freedom from Hunger wants to give everybody just that. The not-for-profit organization strives to solve the problem of chronic hunger and poverty in 16 countries worldwide. Freedom from Hunger provides self-help programs and training for more than 650,000 poor women to learn to better feed and tend the health of their families and turn a small enterprise into a sustaining business. Freedom from Hunger main program, Credit With Education, is a microcredit program that provides loans to small groups of women who attend classes on nutrition, health, family planning, and sound business practices. Freedom From Hunger was founded in 1946 as Meals for Millions. Freedom from Hunger bring poor women in Africa, Asia, and Latin America a powerful combination of microfinance, education, and health protection to help them achieve a sustainable, self-help end to hunger.
