Bates College
Bates College is a selective, private, co-educational liberal arts college granting bachelor of arts and bachelor of science degrees. The more than 1,750 students can choose from 24 majors, the most popular of which include history, environmental studies, political science, English, biology, economics, and psychology. Student's enjoy a 10-to-1 student to faculty ratio. Bates's endowment is an estimated $150 million. With tuition and fees hitting $51,000, most students receive financial aid. Bates College was founded in 1855 by Maine abolitionists.
