Named after the legendary film maestro Satyajit Ray, the Institute has emerged as a national centre of excellence which offers post-graduate programme in Cinematic studies. SRFTI has succeeded in articulating and disseminating classical and contemporary theories of praxis for the creative minds to leap into the world of professional practice : be it mainstream, parallel,art-house, experimental or non-fiction narratives.The Institute has crossed many mile stones towards a new paradigm of the art and craft of Film making. Our alumni have been winning accolades regularly through their mastery over film-making. They have been trendsetters, changing the course of filmmaking through the fusion of thought, craft and entrepreneurial abilities. By proving their mettle as dedicated professionals, they have increased the acceptability of current students in the complex and competitive world of filmmaking.

SRM Film School with its unique formula, which encourages a fun filled environment, is now in its 6th successful year in Mumbai. Our film school has developed serious and disciplined young artists who have made us proud in their respective fields in the film industry. Their talents are boundless, their expressions are illuminating, and their commitment to their own development is inspiring.

Stardust Acting Academy decades ago, we had turned out a number of movie stars who made a great name for themselves in the industry. This included Sonali Bendre, Divya Dutta and Tara Sharma. When I ran the video film division, Hiba films, we introduced Aditya Panscholi and Urmila Matondkar. This time around it will be on a larger scale. That was more on a hit and run basis but yet we were successful. This particular curriculum for the academy has been put together with great care by Dev Advani (CEO, Stardust Acting Academy) and the faculty which is experienced in all different facets for nurturing talent.Stardust magazine has been a pioneer in film journalism. Having started in the 70s and inspite of a number of publications coming into the field, Stardust still enjoys the highest circulation and the highest readership. And in fact, it is the only magazine which has an international edition in London and New York. Our policy has always been to encourage new talent.

It was a group of young professionals in the early nineties who, while practicing as Actors and Voice Artistes, came together to form Sutradhar. True to the name, they went by Erasmus’ thought: Formally launched in 1996 with its Casting wing, we have seen many a milestones. Sutradhar, as it stands today - a Theatre Group, a Casting House and a Voice and Acting School all rolled into one – is an umbrella of numerous initiatives. Sutradhar is driven by the motivation of making sure that deserving talents are rightly recognized, nurtured and manifested. Having created a strong database of talented artists and counting, Sutradhar has become a hub of Actors, Voice Artistes, Scriptwriters, Translators, Directorial Crew, Technical Crew and many other portfolios. These associations have allowed Sutradhar to venture into production.

The Imago School Of Acting was established by its Directors, Barry John and Sanjay Sujitabh,in April 1997, and its status was enhanced to a private limited company in October 1998.Offers diploma and certificate courses in acting.
