The Tata Q501 SUV, on the other hand, will be placed above the Tata Hexa in the company's portfolio. Tata will also offer the car with a 6-speed manual or an automatic gearbox. The upcoming SUV, when launched will rival against the likes of the Hyundai Tucson, Volkswagen Tiguan, Honda CR-V and Jeep Compass and is likely to be launched in 2018. As of now there is no information on the Tata Q502, but is also expected to hit the shores in 2018.
Talking about Maruti Suzuki, the 1.3 litre Multijet diesel unit from Fiat India currently powers the Swift, Swift DZire, Ignis, Baleno, Ciaz and the Vitara Brezza. The 1.3 litre engine delivers good power and is also fuel efficient. Considering the ongoing popularity of this engine, it is understandable that Maruti Suzuki has placed another large order unit for the engine.
