M&M launches new Yuvraj 215 NXT in Rajkot
Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. (M&M) rolled out its new Yuvraj 215 NXT in Rajkot on Wednesday. According to the company, this 15 HP tractor is compact, easy to operate and fuel-efficient with low operating cost, making it ideal for small landholdings.
"Our objective is to increase farm productivity and enhance rural prosperity. The Yuvraj 215 NXT is part of our vision to deliver 'FarmTech Prosperity' to farmers in Gujarat through its multiple application features," said Ravindra Shahane, vice-president, marketing, farm equipment sector, M&M Ltd.
The company said that due to its compact size and adjustable rear track width, the tractor is an ideal one for driving through narrow lanes and is suitable for spraying operations for crops like soybean, grapes, cotton, groundnut, sugarcane and fruit orchards.
Mahindra started producing its mini tractor in Rajkot in 2010. In its April-June quarter results, M&M reported a flat growth in tractor sales, selling 72,166 tractors in the domestic market compared to 71,696 tractors which it sold in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
Delay in rains led to decline in sowing in the country, which is down by 18 percent, the company said, adding that it sees sales picking up in the second half of the year.
The company maintained its leadership in the tractor segment with a market share of 42.2 percent for the first quarter as against 41.4 percent in Q1 of the previous year.
