State Bank of India (SBI) on Friday reported standalone net profit at Rs 838.4 crore for the March quarter of the financial year 2018-19 (FY19). The state-owned lender had posted a loss of Rs 7,711.17 crore in the year-ago period. Net interest income (NII) during the quarter came in at Rs 22,954 crore, up 15 per cent on year-on-year (YoY) basis.

Bajaj Auto Friday said it has launched a new version of its Avenger Street 160 model equipped with anti-lock braking system (ABS) priced at Rs 82,253 (ex-Showroom Delhi).

The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India on Thursday said it has slashed its vehicle production by around 10% across its factories in April. This is the company’s third consecutive month of taking a production cut. It had also reduced production in February and March this year.

The company produced a total of 1,47,669 units in April, down 9.6% from 163,368 units a year ago, it said in a regulatory filing.

Insolvent DC Industrial Plant Services (DCIPS) has been given a window in getting handed over as a going concern with West Bengal Power Development Corporation (WBPDCL) and NTPC continuing to renew its old contract beyond the stipulated time frame. DCIPS, already a negative networth company, cannot participate in fresh tenders, since it would not match the financial criteria that an open tender would demand.

PNB Housing Finance on Thursday reported a 51% year-on-year (y-o-y) growth in net profit to Rs 378 crore for the quarter ended March 31, led by increase in fee income and lower provisions. In the same quarter last year, the mortgage lender posted a net profit of Rs 252 crore.

Reliance Industries subsidiary Reliance Brands Ltd (RBL) is acquiring 100% stake in Hamleys Global Holdings, the owner of British toys brand Hamleys, from Hong Kong-based C Banner International Holdings. An agreement to this effect has been signed between the two entities, RBL said in a statement late Thursday evening.
