Customers are more satisfied with Microsoft’s Surface tablets than they are with Apple’s iPad and tablets built by Samsung, LG, Amazon, Acer and Asus, a study by US-based marketing information services company J.D. Power said on Friday. According to J.D. Power 2017 US Tablet Satisfaction Study, Microsoft is the highest performer in three areas: variety of pre-loaded applications; internet connectivity; and availability of manufacturer-supported accessories.

A week after Microsoft announced its Windows 10 Creators Update, the company introduced new privacy tools that will offer customers more transparency and control. According to a post by Terry Myerson, Executive Vice President of Windows and Devices group (WDG) and Marisa Rogers, WDG Privacy Officer, on Wednesday, the updates will have three new things that will empower customers to be more informed about their privacy in Windows 10.

Shipment of smartphones to India may be increasing but the number of brands are declining as several small-time brands have either shut shop or suspended production. According to Counterpoint Research data, the number of smartphone brands in the country in January 2017 stood at 75, down from 110 in calendar year 2016. In January 2016, the number of brands stood at 85.

Three persons in the US have filed a lawsuit against Microsoft claiming that its Windows 10 update destroyed their data and damaged their computers, a media report said. The complaint, filed in Chicago’s US District Court on Thursday, said that Microsoft Windows 10 was a defective product and that its maker failed to provide adequate warning about the potential risks posed by Windows 10 installation, Britain-based online tech publication The Register reported on Friday.

Microsoft Corp and Adobe Systems Inc are joining to make their respective sales and marketing software products more potent competitors to Salesforce.com Inc and Oracle Corp offerings, the two firms said Monday.
