Equity benchmark Sensex Friday shot up over 623 points to close at a record high of 39,434.72 as investors felt assured of policy stability after a decisive mandate for the Narendra Modi-led BJP in the general elections. The NSE Nifty also surged over 187 points to close at a fresh lifetime high of 11,844.10. During the week, which remained abuzz with news revolving around the Lok Sabha poll results, the 30-share BSE Sensex rose over 1,503 points and the broader Nifty gained 437 points.

The Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) on Wednesday stayed Sebi rulings that directed the National Stock Exchange to disgorge profits of over Rs 625 crore in the co-location case.

However, the tribunal directed the bourse to deposit Rs 625 crore with Sebi in two weeks. The exchange would have to continue to deposit revenues from the co-location facility to an escrow account.

The benchmark BSE Sensex jumped over 150 points in early trade on Wednesday, led by gains in oil and gas, banking and IT stocks, ahead of the general election results.

The 30-share index was trading 157.51 points, or 0.40%, higher at 39,127.31. In similar movement, the broader NSE Nifty rose 30.90 points, or 0.26%, to 11,740. In the previous session, the Sensex ended 382.87 points, or 0.97%, lower at 38,969.80, and the Nifty plunged 119.15 points, or 1.01%, to 11,709.10.

The benchmark BSE Sensex jumped over 200 points to hit a record intra-day high of 39,565.82 as investors' euphoria over exit poll outcome continued in early session on Tuesday. The 30-share index was trading 205.24 points or 0.52 per cent, higher at 39,557.91. In similar movement, the broader NSE Nifty rose 48.90 points, or 0.41 per cent, to 11,877.15.

Mumbai: Domestic equity benchmarks BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty started on a tepid note Thursday tracking mixed cues from global markets amid sustained foreign fund outflows.

The 30-share index was trading 8.25 points, or 0.02 per cent, higher at 37,123.13. The broader NSE Nifty was also trading 2.05 points, or 0.02 per cent, up at 11,159.05.

New Delhi: The National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday said it has penalised 250 companies, including two IL&FS group firms and Jet Airways, for non-compliance with various listing regulations for the quarter ended March 31, 2019.

The total penalty imposed on the non-compliant companies is little over Rs 8.84 crore, according to NSE data.
