St. Anthony's Medical Center serves St. Louis and Jefferson Counties in Missouri, as well as two southwestern Illinois counties. With about 770 beds and more than 800 affiliated physicians, the hospital provides a comprehensive offering, including inpatient and outpatient medical, surgical, diagnostic, and behavioral health care. The hospital also operates a level two trauma center, a cancer center, and a pediatric emergency center, as well as several urgent care facilities. It also offers home health, hospice, laboratory, and pharmacy services. More than 60,000 patients visit the hospital's emergency room each year. St. Anthony's Medical Center was started in 1900 by the Franciscan Sisters of Germany.
