OGE Energy is the holding company for the largest electric utility in Oklahoma, but its largest revenue producer is its energy marketing and natural gas transmission unit, OGE Energy Resources. OGE owns Oklahoma Gas and Electric (OG&E), a public utility with almost 777,000 retail and wholesale customers in Oklahoma (including Oklahoma City) and a bit of western Arkansas. The city-owned utility operates water treatment facilities and a power plant that uses coal and used tires for fuel. Its operating divisions are Elmer Smith power plant, Engineering & Operations, Water Production, and Customer Service Center. It also offers telecommunications services. Owensboro Municipal Utilities is overseen by the five-member Owensboro Utility Commission, which is appointed by the mayor of Owensboro.

The member-owned not-for-profit cooperative serves more than 62,000 customers in about a dozen counties spread across northwest Arkansas and northeast Oklahoma. Its 350 miles of line reach industrial, commercial, residential, and agricultural power users. Ozarks Electric provides its customers with energy audits and information on saving energy as well as energy efficient water heaters and surge protectors. It is a member of Touchstone Energy, a national alliance of electric cooperatives in nearly 40 states. The coop was formed in 1938.

Pampa Energ�a is one of Argentina's largest fully integrated electricity companies. Through subsidiaries or co-controlled companies, it generates more than 7% of the total electricity in Argentina, transmits some 95% of the country's electricity through transmission lines owned and operated by subsidiary Transener, and distributes electricity to more than 2.6 million residential and commercial customers through subsidiary Empresa Distribuidora y Comercializadora Norte (Edenor), the largest electricity distributor in Argentina. Pampa Energ�a maintains fossil fuel, thermal, and hydroelectric generation operations. Its distribution, transmission, and hydroelectric activities are regulated by Argentina's government.
